Was awakened by howling wolves.

I do believe that makes my morning cooler than your morning.

Thank you, Wisconsin, for the 20 bug bites I have, 12 of which are on one leg.

Now I’m off to Yellowstone, where I’ll be for the next two days.  Buh-bye, Sheridan.

Drove 670 miles today.  Currently in a town in the literal middle of Nowhere [sorry for anyone who lives in South Dakota] where it was 100° and is now rapidly cooling down.  White dress shirt and volleyball shorts are a great accompaniment to a hot shower and a new sunburn.  Also, I have way too many mosquito bites, courtesy of Wisconsin.
My tan lines are getting ridiculous.  Tomorrow I’ll see Mount Rushmore and other cool things in SD.
G’night! :)

I know I didn’t update yesterday…

… I promise to update tonight. As of right now, I’m off to Wisconsin.

Since I’ve spammed you all with Montana photos, I thought I’d throw in some personal shots as well.  Can I talk about food for a moment?

Breakfast consisted of delicious biscuits and gravy and hash at this diner/store place… 50,000 Silver Dollars or something like that in Montana… delicious food, yum yummy.  Lunch was a chicken caesar wrap and finger licking good brownies.  They were probably only finger licking good because they were drizzled in fudge and caramel and you kind of had to lick your fingers.  Dinner was in Sheridan, Wyoming at a place called Oliver’s and it consisted of a Greek Lamb Burger, Sweet Potato Fries, and Iced Tea that I turned sweet.  Mhm.

Now that I’m done talking about food… I wore shorts despite the fact the weather was a bit chilly until we reached the edge of Montana/Wyoming.  I wore shorts, so while we were in the car, I pulled on my rainbow knee high stockings that are uber comfy and adorable and if you disagree, well, tough.  My Toms.  My shorts.  My red tank top.  My Texas hat perched on my knee as I sprawled in the backseat.

Yeah.  It’s late now and the bed I’m lounging on is super comfortable and if you’ve never been to Sheridan, it’s like cowboy heaven.  Looks like an old western town, there are boot shiners in front of all the stores… speaking of boots, the men here wear them well and I kind of wish I’d brought mine… I think I’ll spend a season in Sheridan one day.  We say an old trolley on the way in and my grandmother thought it’d make a great apartment.  I’m now determined to make it happen.

Alright!  I’m going to bed.  It’s off to Sioux Falls in the morning. :)

Adieu.

Forgive the Montana porn… also, forgive the crappy quality of the porn, but then again, porn never is as good as the real thing [or so I’ve heard], so it’s fitting, yeah?

I’m seriously in love with this place.  It might have something to do with the endless skies and the bevy of wildlife [antelope spotting is the new car ride game of choice].  Pretty sure the moose lolling about by the side of the road was thinking, “I’m bigger than your Prius.  You wanna go, bro?  Let’s go.”

“What are Montana’s state initials?”
“MT.”
“That’s right, because there’s nothing here.”

Let me just say, I love the emptiness.  Never in my life have I been somewhere that felt so limitless, so endless, so perfect.  Mon dieu, I’m in love.

Oh Montana, sweet Montana… aptly named the Big Sky Country.  I plan on living here at some point in my life.  Be a season, be it a decade- I’m going to live here at some point in time and I can picture myself having a farm.  Not that I know the first thing about farming, but I’m a quick learner and I’m sure someone in the big ole state of Montana would be willing to teach me.  Right?

We ended up staying the night at on an Airbase in Spokane.  Yes, I slept well, but I ended up running a bit late, but not that late [since when is five minutes considered late?].  In my defense, the clock in my room was off and I’d turned my phone off because people kept calling/texting and I was trying to sleep.  I love you all, but seriously! ;)

So enjoy the horrid photos I took.  Yes, they’re all from a moving vehicle and yes, the majority of the photos I’ll be sharing are taken through the window because someone swears the sound of the wind is too loud.  Also, I’m probably going to write a book about this trip because the things my grandparents say are just too damn funny not to share.

Besides… who wouldn’t want to read a book about a slight insane girl traveling 2,000 miles with her grandparents?  That’s inspiring, generation collision, imparting life wisdom shit that people eat up.  Yep yep?

Okay… time to post the Montana photos.

Road Trip 2012.
My cousin is graduating in Wisconsin and I’m attending the graduation party.  This is the planned route.  I am promising photos [writing, and other stuff] and I might remember to wear bug spray and there’s a possibility I might end up in a dress as some point.
Also, I’m graduating as well, so you can expect photos of that.  I swear, I will start updating this blog with more than just reblogged photos.  Scout’s Honor.
[is that with three fingers or two? clearly, I was never a scout.]
