a novelist named Britt.
I was originally wary of yellow [and orange] until someone pointed out how not many people could pull off those particular shades and how I, somehow, was blessed with the genetic makeup that gave me the appropriate coloring to pull off those colors.
It started with an orange dress when I was twelve and then I saw Taylor Swift wearing this dress a while back and wanted to see if I could find a yellow dress like that.  Thus far, no luck, but my love of the color has been embedded in me.  I mostly do yellow jewelry, the occasional yellow top, and yellow shoes.  I’m not a pastel person, really, so the yellow hues I tend to gravitate towards are very loud and I’m not sure a full dress would work well.  I’ll give it a try though.
Red, however… there’s a color I’ll rock a full on ensemble in.  Like the perfect yellow dress, I’m currently on the hunt for the perfect red lipstick. :)
And you’re right, my style is a bit light, but it’s not all lace, darling.  I’ve got some leather here. ;)
Also, if you want to see if yellow works for you, start with a scarf or a t-shirt in a lighter hue and then graduate to something more vibrant.  Not only do you find the right shade for you, but you won’t shock yourself with the sudden brightness. :)
